Honorary Giving

Consider giving an alternative gift that supports DIG participants at our garden sites.  Purchase one or many of DIG's essential project items and DIG will send recognition of your gift to the person of your choosing explaining why that gift matters and how it will sustain communities in need.

All donations are tax-deductible. We are a grassroots organization and depend on individual supporters to achieve our mission. Thank you for supporting DIG.

Reap Life. DIG

Here are our alternative gift options:

Plant Seeds1. Plant 10 Packs of Vegetable Seeds- $20.00

Supply a group of outpatients with a mix of open-pollinating seeds. These seeds grow true to their mother plant each year and produce offspring exactly like their parent, which makes these a more sustainable option for DIG constituents. Purchase this gift

Plant Garden2. Plant an Herb Garden- $30.00

Adding herbs to a home cooked meal doesn't just make everything taste better; it can make everyone feel better too.  Did you know basil is one of the 7 healthiest herbs with lots of vitamin C, potassium, calcium, iron, and vitamin K? It has anti-bacterial properties and can combat inflammation too. We all appreciate a fresh sprig of mint in our tea. Why not share that luxury with someone else? Their mouths and bodies will thank you. Purchase this gift

Set of Tools3. Provide a Set of Tools- $50.00

You can't build a garden without putting your back into it, that's why having strong sturdy tools are a must for every new gardener. DIG wants to provide our participants with reliable tools that go the distance, and you can help by purchasing quality shovels, rakes, and hoes for our beneficiaries. Purchase this gift

H20 Harvesting4. Install a Home Garden Water Harvesting System- $75.00

With the purchase of one system, you are helping capture and conserve precious rainwater that will be utilized in the garden. Often DIG participants have to fetch and carry water a mile or more back to their home. This system helps alleviate the daily burden of searching for water. Systems include guttering, piping, and a storage barrel. Purchase this gift

Build Home Garden5. Build a Home Garden- $100.00

You can enable a household to attain food and nutrition sustainability in a short amount of time by equipping them with seeds and supplies to build their own mini DIG garden. Participants have an opportunity to use the skills and knowledge they have gained through the facility gardens to start their own Home Garden. With a small grant from you and supportive guidance from DIG, they can do a lot with even the smallest space. Purchase this gift

Fence6. Install a Fence for a Facility Garden- $250.00

What good is a garden if it’s eaten by wandering livestock or vandalized in the neighborhood? Providing fencing for all DIG sites is crucial to the gardens' success and sustainability. Besides, when you build a fence around something, it means you value what's inside, and that speaks volumes to the surrounding community - sparking interest in the work you and DIG are doing behind the fence. Community Garden plot7. Establish a Community Garden Plot- $500.00

Help a garden group expand their efforts to a shared community plot where they can grow bigger and more productive gardens. Supporting a community plot includes rental of the land for one year, seeds, tools, and help with a water source. Purchase this gift

Local Facilitator8. Support a Local Facilitator for 1 Year- $1,200.00

For $100 a month you can support the work and salary of a local DIG facilitator. For $1,200 you can give that person a job for a whole year, and who doesn't want a job these days.
